Exclusive: new song titles, recording details Bloc Party have so far demoed 15 songs for the new album. Highlights include the following songs, which I've been told sound amazing:
'Hunting For Witches' (described by Kele as 'old skool Bloc Party, with distortion and stuff') 'Day One' 'Death Of A Century' 'Blue Moon' 'Waiting For The 7.18' 'Uniform'
You heard it here first! Expect to hear some of these played on the forthcoming fan club tour.
There's going to be a few more songwriting sessions and then the recording of the album will begin, with either Steve Dub (Chemical Brothers / Roots Manuva) or Jacknife Lee (Snow Patrol / U2) on production duties. The band will record one song with each prospective producer to help them make the decision.
If all goes to plan, Bloc Party should have a new single out in July, with the album to follow in September. Woop.
By the way, those of you who can't afford a seating ticket for the Royal Albert Hall gig can buy cheaper standing tickets for £18.50 from the venue's website.
sorry to botter with a comment that got nothing to do with the post, but nonetheless...
i found this file at video.google.com where this band called "final fantasy" plays a song from bloc party, just with a violin and a drum kit. it was one of the most amazing things i've ever heard in my life, and i want to know more about the band.
hey...i posted this a while back, you should be able to find it if you go back a couple months. The guy playing the violin is Owen Pallett - he records under the name Final Fantasy, and he also plays live with Arcade Fire. He's got a website...www.finalfantasyeternal.com Hope that helps?
That video is still available for download at http://www.megaupload.com/se/?d=SCQM3OOO and if it should expire I've put it up on thepiratebay.com along with a very rare bloc party tv performance of two more years on tv total that i ripped to much better quality than the former copy i've seen..you can watch the low quality version here mms://wms.e-tv.de/tvtotal/2005/11/30/0808-00-06-wm_midband.wmv
