Gig reviews: Royal Albert Hall, London, 29.03.06MusicOMH.com: "...in their set of around an hour, they proved yet again that they're one of the most vital and relevant bands around, with an arsenal of songs to rival almost anyone. On this evidence, their new album will see them go stratospheric."
Gigwise.com: "Closing on the outstanding ‘Pioneers’ it’s when Kele delivers the line “We promised the world we’d tame it” like no one else can that you’re reminded just why Bloc Party are inimitable and for that reason alone, very, very special."
Ahh..right now they're new and special and unique, and unknown to many (especially Americans), but I have a feeling they're going to blow up real soon. I'm telling everyone about them.. Should be a great time. I can't wait to see them in the States this summer. You guys out there are soo lucky!
totally agree! they need to blow up soon in america not 'cause they have something to prove but unfortunately i'm from venezuela and that's the only way i could dream of having them come to this side of the globe. ever since i first heard banquet about a year ago i've become addicted to them. i even had to order the cd online 'cause i couldn't find it anywhere over here. i'm really into two more years right now but pioneers, skeleton, this modern love, so here we are, blue light, always new depths are among my favorite tracks.
