Toronto Island show announced
Bloc Party have announced details of a special show on Toronto Island with Broken Social Scene on June 24th 2006.
Tickets go on sale exclusively via Marshals at 10am local time on Thursday 6th April before going on general sale 36 hours later on the evening of 7th April.
To join Marshals visit www.blocparty.com/marshals. Membership costs around $3.50 (£2) and will give you access to all future ticket pre-sales, as well as exclusive interviews and news from the band.
Here's some geographical information for you! The Toronto Islands are a chain of small islands which provide a shallow natural harbour for the city of Toronto, Canada. The islands were originally a 9 km peninsula extending from the mainland but a fierce storm in 1858 washed away a sizeable portion of the connecting landmass and created the 'Eastern Gap'. The islands also used to form a single unified whole, but splintered when Hurricane Hazel hit in 1954.

I love the Island shows. This is the third year running and I'm so glad Bloc Party is headlining this year. You guys will have an awesome time. Don't forget your sunblock, towel and toilet paper.

Well yeah of course some toilet paper. You're going to be restricted to Olympic Island, away from the family tourist crowds. So that means there is only a few areas for toilets. Either the porta potties or the long line ups to the washroom. It's not the say the island is going to run out of toilet paper but I would rather be careful and bring my own just in case.
Oh and food is majorly expensive there. If you bring your own, including drinks, make sure it's not open yet. Security has a tendency to be anal about open drinks.
And if you're going to there for the start of the show like 1 pm, be warned that there's going to be a long line up to get to the Island and only two ferries that go back and forth. Hey even the musicians have to take the ferry with us. I've seen Broken Social Scene, Sam Roberts, Sloan on the same ferry with me.
