Download: 'Song For Clay' bootleg'Song For Clay (Disappear Here)' is set to appear on the new album and is a sublime example of Bloc Party's frenetic, agitated side, featuring some rather out-there vocals by Kele and Gordy. It's not an amazing quality bootleg and the start is chopped off, but I figured it was better than nothing! Maybe someone managed to get a better recording?
As previously mentioned on BLOG PARTY, the track is inspired by the main character in the Bret Easton Ellis cult novel, 'Less Than Zero'.
i wouldn't say he sounded horrible. He's pretty intune, but he probably hadn't warmed up properly so doing a falceto probably wasn't the easiest things... it'll sound better from the studio. Good riff. Can't wait for the album!
Hrrrrm, i think i kinda agree with that person who said he sounded horrible. i didn't like the beginning either, and i'm not going to accept the excuse "he probably didn't warm up properly". they're still my absolute favorite, but i could care less for this song.
I'm really liking their new stuff, it's a huge departure in many ways from Silent Alarm and yet some of the stuff sounds very similar - a great mix of strange and familiar. Song For Clay has gotta be on of the best things that they've ever done.
