  Download: 'Song For Clay' bootleg
'Song For Clay (Disappear Here)' is set to appear on the new album and is a sublime example of Bloc Party's frenetic, agitated side, featuring some rather out-there vocals by Kele and Gordy. It's not an amazing quality bootleg and the start is chopped off, but I figured it was better than nothing! Maybe someone managed to get a better recording?

As previously mentioned on BLOG PARTY, the track is inspired by the main character in the Bret Easton Ellis cult novel, 'Less Than Zero'.

Recorded by unreal_andy from A.N.D.

This song is amazing. I'm so exited bout this album! The vocals are kinda crazy like! xx

i was there (paredes de coura) yesterday! this was the first song of their gig, it was fantastic! hope they'll come back soon here

where did this come from?

The riff after the intro vocals is monumental, Bloc Party surpassing themselves once again.

andy = lengend! :D

kele sounds horrible in the beginning.

that intro made me slightly aroused.

i wouldn't say he sounded horrible. He's pretty intune, but he probably hadn't warmed up properly so doing a falceto probably wasn't the easiest things... it'll sound better from the studio. Good riff. Can't wait for the album!

Hrrrrm, i think i kinda agree with that person who said he sounded horrible. i didn't like the beginning either, and i'm not going to accept the excuse "he probably didn't warm up properly". they're still my absolute favorite, but i could care less for this song.

Amazing concert in Paredes de Coura! Hope to see you all nest year!

The intro is terrible but the rest of the song makes it more than forgivable.

I can't figure out the lyrics? someone help me?

" *SOMETHING* rise in champaign flutes, but when we kiss i feel nothing, feasting on xanax, i'm so over it "

is it "Bargles" as in Argle-Bargles which is brit slang for verbal dispute and that type stuff, arguments and stuff like that?

i thought it was 'bubbles rise', and 'feasting on Xanax and Marlboro Reds'!

hahaha yes! that would make a lot more sense now wouldn't it :D thanks james!

i dont think he sounds horrible at all. kele's voice is a somewhat aquired taste.

I'm really liking their new stuff, it's a huge departure in many ways from Silent Alarm and yet some of the stuff sounds very similar - a great mix of strange and familiar. Song For Clay has gotta be on of the best things that they've ever done.
