Bloc Party's Weekend In The City So Here We Are...after a great deal of speculation, details of the new album, 'A Weekend In The City' have finally been set in concrete!
The tracklist goes like this:
1. Song For Clay (Disappear Here) 2. Hunting For Witches 3. Waiting For The 7:18 4. The Prayer 5. Uniform 6. On 7. Where Is Home? 8. Kreuzberg 9. I Still Remember 10. Sunday 11. SRXT
So that means no space on the album for 'We Were Lovers' and 'England' (or whatever they're now called!).
The first single will be 'The Prayer', out on January 29th, a song which is apparently based on the bolero dance, with foot stomping, hand claps and a smidgen of Busta Rhymes.
Just 3 more months to hold on then...it's alright for badgers - at least they can hibernate to make the time go quicker.
Two More Years was just a single. I don't think it was ever seriously considered for the album, it was just more of a portend of the direction their music may be taking.
Two more years was on silent alarm when it was re-released so they couldn't put it on the new one anyway. I can't believe 'We Were Lovers' isn't on there, it's such a good song! Just as long as they do a demo of it or something I'll be happy :D
I guess England might not have fit in with the theme of the album but it would be nice if it was still included as a hidden track (hint hint to any of the band members who might stumble upon this)
Got my hands on a radio copy of the album. Fan-F**kng-tastic. Different than silent alarm, and two more years. Bigger sound, more clearly 'produced' and layered.
