  'AWITC' artwork

Here's the final cover artwork for 'A Weekend In The City':

The photo, entitled 'A Modern Project', was taken by German photographer Rut Blees Luxemburg, who's well known for her gritty night-time views of London. It shows London's Westway at night, streaming with traffic and towering over an illuminated sports complex.

In this week's NME, Luxemburg explains why this particular artwork was chosen: "All the complex activities that the city encapsulates are expressed in this work, all the possibilities of city life. This album cover really reflects the main thrust of the record."

Hmm. MTV.com lists a special version of A Weekend In The City with a bonus track.
Anyone know anything about it?
I'm hoping it's England.

Goes right along with the newly redesigned blocparty.com. =)

HMV've changed it now.

looks awesome

Slightly bigger copy...

OK COMPUTER. The whole album is going for the same cinematic film score approach to modern life, even the artwork. In Bloc's defence though, they take a completely different view on the theme.

NIIICE.

:) Although I was thinking they'd go for the more chintzy approach; nice shot.

i quite like it. will look good in my hands in February.

Heh, the boys want to keep the leak under wraps, then in NME a few pages in the mag, it's pointing the fact it has to everyone.

wowy wow wow wow wow wobbydo!

There is a preorder for a "limited edition", but IT'S BRIT ONLY.

What the hell?

did anyone else see the supposed cover with all the blue lights and the no u-turn sign? I though that was going to be the cover but I like this one as well.

the blue neon one was much better, but either is good

Yeah that artwork was a fan made one which spread unintentionally leading people to believe that was the actual artwork. I hope they use some of the AND artwork on thier future singles!

The official cover is way better than the blue rumoured one. Don't get me wrong it was a beatifull photo, but it would of been a bit much.

^^^^ agreed.

I think that the blue neon cover is best .. personally.. more eye catching i think it reflects the first half of the album better too..
i will buy the album when it comes out but i can't wait plus i'm sure ,as an edge, something will be added to it to give it an edge over the leak.

i think this is a great front cover for a great album! the blue one was good but the actual cover really reflects the quality off the album, and whta the songs mean in the album! i feel guilty about already downloading the album but when you can you just dont want to wait.i will still be buying it though just to prove that i own the most perfect and beautiful album since 'silent alarm'. ALBUM OF THE YEAR 2007!!
