Bloc Party pull out of Panic! tour Matt's collapsed lung means that Bloc Party unfortunately won't be able to continue with their Panic! At The Disco support slot. The drummer extraordinaire is on the road to recovery, but doctors have advised that he shouldn't travel or play again for another few weeks in order to give his lung time to properly heal. This message has been posted up on the P!ATD site...
We'd like to welcome Plain White T's to the next few weeks of the "Nothing Rhymes With Circus Tour". They will be opening up the shows beginning in New York through November 26th in Iowa. After that, Cobra Starship will be on the tour through December 9th in San Diego. We are as bummed out as you are that Bloc Party is unable to continue on the tour. Fortunately we found 2 great bands to take their place so we hope you enjoy. See you guys soon... Also, Kele has this message for Bloc's U.S. fans:"We would like to apologize to all of our fans here who won't be able to see us on this tour. We were looking forward to playing in a number of American cities that we've never been to before, however, Matt's health is our number one priority right now."
Bad news: I just called Artist Arena (who was handling the Marshals advance sale tickets) and they are unwilling to give refunds as of right now. Sadly, I have two tickets to both the Portland and Seattle shows that I no longer need. Hope this problem will be fixed. =(
A.N.D. is not gone. Just probably another billing problem. It'll all be fine in a bit. Don't worry abouti it. And ignore my past question, I was still in denial about the cancellations.
From this post, I gathered that Bloc Party aren't going to be playing at ANY of the shows. Including mine and your's (Storm&Stress's). Please let me have assumed wrong....
SHIT! that sucks for all you guys that still have to see the concert. But whatever is the best for Matt. really do hope he recovers fully and is able to play again.
Well, you dont get a refund, there's always eBaby. You shouldn't but it's P!ATD. Anyway I hope and gets back up soon, there are things I'd like to post.
i love P!ATD and all. but what the hell? wheres the "we hope he's ok" or you know.? GAHHHHR. have they no sympathy for he best drummer? kashdhsadsad fldshyfdfdsghj well. at least you guys had the chance of seeing them im stuck in australia. not that its bad. CMON BLOC PARTY. Australia needs you!
=/ I was really excited that they're going to come back again! I missed them twice already. Well Matt's health is more important. I hope he gets well soon. Other than that I don't know what to do with the tickets.
I drove my very pregnant wife 3 hours on Saturday to see them. we were going to leave when panic started. The marquee still showed their name! we sat thru the replacement band (who sucked) before we realized what was going on...very disappointing.
Get well soon, Matt. come back to Virginia, i'll find a babysitter.
i agree to the last post. i hope you get better matt. bloc party needs to come to michigan asap though. preferable the breslin center in east lansing, mi.
Went to the concert tonight and although I knew they wouldn't be there it was still sad to not see them. If it weren't for my cousin wanting to see Panic! I would have asked for my $$ back. Can't wait until Bloc Party comes back to the states - they put on a great show!
I'm already disappointed enough about not being able to see the band in Rochester NY, but I am learning now that refunds are not in fact available, as the website indicates. Both Ticketmaster, and the venue itself, have told me the promoter decided not to refund tickets. I think that's just tacky. Sadly, I'm out the $180 I spent on four tickets, and one of them was a birthday present for one of my best friends! The venue's box office people told me I should come down and try to sell the tickets to someone at the door, but I live 80 miles away in Buffalo. And I can't really convince my friend, who's celebrating her birthday, that an 80-mile drive down the I-190 and an evening of scalping tickets would be a fun way for her to celebrate. Too bad; the only reason we got the tickets in the first place was Bloc Party, not Panic! At the Disco. And now I'm gonna have to resort to doing what I always do when I'm pissed off...listen to Hole's CD, Live Through This.
We only bought to see Bloc in Vancouver, B.C. and ticketmaster said no refunds since the promotors replaced bloc party...can't Panic or Bloc party help us get our money back?
We feel entirely ripped off and bitter with the promoters.
i'm the biggest mug of all. I bought tickets x 2 at twice face value. No refunds from those gangsters in stubhub.com. Just because I'm Irish doesn't make it ok to be a gombeen man... Mike I've lost 120 dollars on these suckers.
