two CDs and limited edition green 7" vinyl. B-sides are The Streets remix of 'Banquet' and 'Hero', an amazing
new song driven by a hip-hop beat which is unlike anything the band have previously recorded.

A brand new BP song , 'The Present', is to be included on the new War Child compilation - 'Help: A Day In The
Life'. This album will be available to download from midday on 09.09.05 from www.warchildmusic.com (each
track will cost 99p). The compilation, which will raise money for children affected by war, will be released on CD
on 26.09.05.

Bloc Party will perform live at the Nationwide Mercury Prize awards ceremony tonight at London's Grosvenor
House Hotel. 'Silent Alarm' is one of the twelve albums shortlisted to win the award for Album of the Year. The
ceremony can be watched on TV at the following times:

Bloc Party have pulled their next two live dates at the Oxford Street Virgin Megastore and Independent Days
Festival in Italy due to problems with Kele's voice. The upcoming North American tour will not be affected.

Tune into 'Lamacq Live' tonight between 9pm and 1am to hear highlights from Bloc Party's set at the Carling
Weekend festivals.

of 'Banquet' by The Streets, which features Mike Skinner rapping over the original track.

Bloc Party will contribute a track to the forthcoming Warchild album, 'Help: A Day In The Life'. Most bands taking
part will record a track on 08.09.05 which will be available on www.warchildmusic.com from 09.09.05, making it
the fastest album ever made. A physical CD release will follow a few weeks later. The aim of the project is to
help children affected by conflict all over the world.

There are rumours that Bloc Party are going to be teaming up with Kaiser Chiefs to record a cover of a
Christmas song which will be released as a single near the end of the year. Check back for more details!

'The Pioneers' entered at number 18 in the official UK singles chart today.
'Silent Alarm Remixed' will be released in the US by Vice on 13.09.05. The first pressing will have a second disc
of bonus tracks (likely to contain b-sides which have so far been unavailable across the Atlantic).

'Silent Alarm', Bloc Party's debut album, has been nominated for the 2005 Mercury Music prize. The winner of
the £20,000 prize will be announced at the awards show on 06.09.05.

'The Pioneers' is released on limited numbered CD, DVD and 7" picture disc today, and will be the final single
taken from 'Silent Alarm'. The tracklistings for the three formats are on the discography page.

Bloc Party will be playing more gigs across the USA in September, including a set at the Austin City Limits
